NCQA recognition in the Back Pain Recognition Program
The National Committee for Quality Assurance, the Washington DC based premier quality reporting agency in all of health care, has recently implemented the physician Back Pain Recognition Program. NCQA also has physician recognition programs for the management of diabetes and cardiovascular disease/stroke. The doctors of Rochester Chiropractic Group were among the first doctors in the country to achieve NCQA recognition in the care of back pain. NCQA recognition is a demonstration of high quality patient centered, evidence based care for patients with back pain.

Unity Hospital Spine Center
Unity hospital, formerly Park Ridge Hospital, has recently opened the Unity Hospital Spine Center for the evaluation and management of spine related pain and disability. The center includes spine surgeons, physical medicine and rehabilitation physicians, anesthesiologists, neurologists, physical therapists, and the doctors of Rochester Chiropractic Group. Physicians in the community refer patients with spine related pain and/or disability to the center, where an intensive history is taken, records, reports and imaging are collected and reviewed by a spine center physician and the patient is sent to the appropriate spine center specialist. Often times, the patient is seen by multiple spine center specialists to ensure the best and quickest recovery from spine related pain and/or disability.The Unity Hospital Spine Center is one of only spine centers in the country to include medical physicians, surgeons and chiropractors in the same center.

U of R School of Medicine Faculty
Rochester Chiropractic Group has served as a training facility for residents from the family medicine program of the University of Rochester School of Medicine since 1999.  First year residents in family medicine spend 3 - 4 days in the office with Dr John Ventura learning about the chiropractic approach to musculoskeletal conditions such as back pain and neck pain. Dr Ventura serves as a clinical instructor at University of Rochester and  is one of  few members of the chiropractic profession who serve as faculty members at a medical school.

New York Chiropractic College
Rochester Chiropractic College serves as a training site for interns from New York Chiropractic College, and has also hosted interns from Palmer Chiropractic College. Interns could spend up to 8 weeks at the end of their internship working directly with the doctors of Rochester Chiropractic Group, both observing and assisting in patient care. Dr Ventura is an assistant professor at New York Chiropractic College and also supervises chiropractic interns at the Mercy Outreach Center.

Mercy Outreach Center
The doctors of Rochester Chiropractic Group have served as volunteer health care staff of the Mercy Outreach Center for over 20 years. The Mercy Outreach Center is a multidisciplinary center with medical physicians, surgeons, dentists, nurse practitioners, physicians assistants, social workers, nurses and ...................chiropractors. The providers work collaboratively to care for those without health insurance.

Dr Justice and Dr Ventura are board certified chiropractic orthopedists. Dr Desandis and Dr Perlman are certified as chiropractic sports practitioners. In addition, Dr Lee is a certified athletic trainer. The doctors of Rochester Chiropractic Group have taken extensive post graduate training to remain current in patient centered, evidence based care.

Dr Justice and Ventura have published in the Journal of Manipulative and Physiological Therapeutics, the first chiropractic scientic journal referenced in Index Medicus. Dr Justice is co-author in a text book on occupational medicine and Dr Ventura is co-author in a text on sociology of medicine.
